1780 is defined by its inspiring views and ties to the area’s rich American history. It is just a short hike or paddle from 1780 to Camp Lake James, Crescent’s new lake adventure center. And, the 3,000-acre expansion of Lake James State Park is just across the street.
Paying homage to the heritage of the Lake James area, 1780 is named for the year the “Overmountain Men” marched through the area on their way to victory at the Battle of Kings Mountain. Crescent is creating 3.5 miles of trails on the Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail through the 1,100-acre community. In 2006, the National Park Service certified the first mile of these new trails as a “linear national park.”
Properties for sale in 1780 range in size from 2 to more than 6 acres and start in the $200s for lake-access lots and the $300s for waterfront homesites. All lake-access homesites have a reserved slip in a community dock. 1780 is also home to Hully Gully, a collection of cabin homesites that offer preplanned cabin designs, and the Firestone homesites.
