Gazing across the water at Camp Lake James and its sister community 1780, Old Wildlife Club enjoys spectacular views of the Pisgah National Forest and Linville Gorge. Once a well-known hunting ground, the community is now characterized by an abundance of native wildlife – deer, red foxes, wild turkey, loons, wood ducks, ospreys, herons and kingfishers … just to name a few.
Through our architectural guidelines and initiatives that protect and enhance the property’s natural habitats, Old Wildlife Club is a place where people and wildlife can truly coexist. In fact, we are creating a system of meadows in Old Wildlife Club that will preserve some of the best mountain views in the community, while making them inviting to wildlife.
Featuring some of the best lakefront property for sale on Lake James and Rafter's Roost, an intimate collection of lake-access homesites, Old Wildlife Club offers homesites ranging from one to eight acres. Lake-access homesites start in the $200s, and waterfront homesites start in the mid-$300s. All lake-access lots have a reserved slip in a community dock.
