Black Forest’s position on Lake James affords owners access to both the lake and the Linville arm of the Catawba River.
The River Camp offers a canoe and kayak launch into the Catawba River. Residents enjoy amenities such as a tree house, picnic shelter, canoes and kayaks, and a viewing platform to take in the quiet beauty of the river.
An extensive system of trails connects owners’ homesites to the River Camp and Lake Camp. Take the short hike to the Lake Camp or pull your boat up to the camp’s dock. A spectacular amphitheater accented by Canadian timbers, a campfire pit, restroom facilities and a community dock offers an intimate setting for gathering with family and friends.
When it’s time to gather a group, the community house and its spacious viewing meadow offers a place to meet or just relax with neighbors.
