Camp Lake James
Perched on the lake’s edge in the heart of the 1780 community and directly across the lake from Old Wildlife, The Camp is where your fondest memories of your home on Lake James are likely to be made.
Completed in 2008, The Camp embodies our vision of creating connections to nature, to history and to each other. It’s the place to stop, enjoy a book, a glass of wine or to set out on an adventure.
Community trails in 1780 connect The Camp to Lake James State Park and homesites throughout the community. Together with The Camp’s docks, we’ve created to opportunity for members to travel to the Camp by foot and by boat, as well as by bike or car.
Our full-time activities staff plans activities year-round for all ages and helps members explore the area and discover everything lake living has to offer. The staff regularly plans activities for children and grandchildren, which allows adults a chance to relax and have a quiet conversation.
Property owners in 1780 and Old Wildlife Club are automatically members. A limited number of recreational licenses are available to the public.
