Old Wildlife Club
Larger homesites are nestled amongst beautiful, mature trees, rolling hills and wildernesses define the beauty of Old Wildlife Club on Lake James. It is a place where people and nature peacefully coexist.
Offering incredible views of the Pisgah National Forest, Linville Gorge Wilderness and the Blue Ridge Mountains, this lake community was once a well-known hunting ground. Today, it’s home to an abundance of wildlife, including deer, turkey, red foxes and more.
Tucked in next to the original section of Lake James State Park, Old Wildlife is just a quick boat ride across the water from The Camp, our lakefront adventure center, and its sister community, 1780. All off-water homesites have a dedicated slip in a community dock that’s ready today – making this an ideal community for boat lovers aching to explore the area.
A system of community hiking trails connects Old Wildlife owners to a network of protected meadows with stunning views of Shortoff Mountain and Linville Gorge.
Old Wildlife has no building time restrictions, allowing owners to build at their own pace. There are no minimum requirements, allowing you to start with a small cabin and grow your retreat over time. And, our stewardship guidelines influence all homes and development here.
